- Where does the jewellery come from and how is it made?
Dancing Apsara jewellery is carefully handcrafted in India using ancient techniques that have been passed down through generations. Most of the pieces are designed by Dancing Apsara, however some pieces are simply so beautiful we could not resist buying the already finished products and bringing them back to England with us from our travels.

- How many of each design do you produce?
This will depend on the design. Some pieces are unique, and others are produced in larger quantities. However the production rarely exceeds more than 20 pieces, ensuring that our clients will always feel that they are in the possession of a truly unique and original treasure.

- How do I know the stones are real?
As Gemmologists, the Dancing Apsara team inspects and performs the necessary tests on all gems to ensure that the stones are genuine.

- What about the Gold? Is that real?
Most of our pieces are 18 Karat Gold and we check this by bringing the jewels to the London Assay Office once they have arrived from India. At the Assay office, each piece is then tested and stamped with the Dancing Apsara Hall Mark. In the event that the jewel is less than 18 Karat Gold, this is disclosed in the jewel description.

- How do I know the size of a piece?
The size information is displayed next to each piece in the shopping section. However, please be aware that the sizes are approximate and might vary slightly.

- What about the colour of the stones?
The colour might vary from computer to computer and therefore we cannot guarantee that the colour you see on the web sight is completely accurate. However, most of our jewels are far more beautiful in reality than on the website, so hopefully you will be pleasantly surprised!!!

- Do you do bespoke jewellery?
No, unfortunately we do not do bespoke jewellery.

- How do I best care for my jewellery?
Stones can break if they are accidentally dropped onto a hard surface. We therefore recommend that you do not put them on or remove them in the bathroom or over a hard floor. Ideally the jewels should be handled over your bed or other soft surface.
Stones except for diamonds can scratch so we recommend you keep them separated from other jewels either in their box or pouch whenever you are not wearing them.
Some coloured stones can fade with time if continually exposed to light. It is therefore our recommendation that they be kept in a box or pouch whenever they are not being worn.
Porous stones such as Pearls, Emeralds and Opals are sensitive to chemicals such as perfume, hair spray and body lotion. Please do not use them directly on or near these stones.
If you need to clean the jewels, luke warm soapy water is best except for porous material such as pearls and opals, that are better cared for using a soft dry cloth. We do not recommend that you wet strung pieces of jewellery, and in any case always avoid using chemicals or any sorts of detergents on your precious stones.

- What if there is an accident and my jewel breaks?
Depending on the break, we would always first suggest that you bring the jewel to a goldsmith close to where you live. If it is a question of re-stringing a piece of jewellery or replacing a stone, we will gladly help you, however in some cases this might mean having to send the jewel to India. In such instances we ask our clients to be patient as it might be a couple of months before we can get the jewel back to you.

- Can you help me choose a gift?
